So I bought my husband a linq slim for his sled not realizing it was a gen 4 and not gen 3 so it will not fit on his sled. Anyone know if there is a linq bag that had a shovel holder? That's why I purchased the slim is because it was specifically for a shovel to be attached, I've looked and just cant find one. Or is there a secret way to get a gen 4 to fit a 3? I went to a dealer, and they were no help to me unfortunately.

Is this the slim bag?

Online doesn’t show that can be used on sleds other than gen4’s >137”. (Ie doesn’t show shim kits to be used - while others bags have provisions for shim kit)

(suspect it’s because you need two sets of shims to potentially get this bag to work if even possible? As the dimensions of rear tunnel may be slightly different in mounting points gen3 vs gen4)

I use this bag with the shovel strapped to the top on my Backcountry. It's a good set up. The "purse" Linq bag fits more unless you expand this slim waterproof bag which may allow snow or weather to get in. I just installed it in March of this season so I haven't really tried.

Yes that's the bag I got for him. The linq points line up on his sled on the bag, the tunnel is just too high down the middle and that's why it wont work.
