This will end up in a trade of some sort that may not be in sled tech. If AC had to pay I estimate at bare min to be $34 million. They will never pay that cause they can't. Yamaha will be sued as well. Sad, as it could be the final dagger for both.

Serious question; what does Cat have that Doo would want?

They had their front end but the new Doo front end has pretty much made that a non-issue now - certainly nothing Doo would settle for now.

The XP was the most fun sled ever made - but I liked my XR more. The 850 takes it to a whole different level.

the customer base(as small as it may be), this is about putting the competition out of business.

^Disagree. It is about copyright. Why do all the R&D, spend buckets developing a product only to have someone copy it and then profit from it. The orient has been famous for this now for decades. Read up on Titleist golf, Nike, etc. They spend a king's ransom every day on R&D and  protecting their product investment.

I'm well aware of IP. I dont understand why this is Canada only.  If that were the case wouldn't/shouldn't it stop sales world wide unless either company didn't file their patents in all countries of sale?  They'll be able to sell by the time winter rolls around again anyways,

I wouldn't agree with that.

This was a ruling by a Canadian court to settle a suit brought in Canada.  The Canadian court would have no authority to stop sales of Arctic Cat snowmobiles in the United States, or anywhere else in the world for that matter, except in Canada.  Presumably there is a version of this same suit working its way through the courts in the US, Finland, Russia, etc.   Well maybe not Russia. LOL

With the amount of sleds that Cat sells in CA the fine should only be about $1600.

Curious what the actual infringement is.  Maybe Yamaha will have to bring back the Apex and Nytro?

I have a G4, a Procross, an XS, and an original Rev... the Procross doesn't seem that similar to me (and it certainly rides much different).
