anyone have pics of the mods needed to install their clutch? I know that both the belly pan and the side panel will need to have some work done to them to fit the STM and wondering if the TAPP is the same. here is a pic of the STM sitting finger tight on the crank and I defiantly wont be able to install the belt

I had a pb80 on it and was blowing belts every 200miles when that clutch blew up i bought this STM rage 8 from a buddy he had it on his xr. The clutch isn't torqued but from what I see it definatly needs the belly pan cut and the side panel will need some modification

the great disaster installed the belt with an STM in an xs chassis. so tight that I broke straps only to try past.

Its not just the belly pan thats an issue the cover hits the side panel which i can make a vent to get more roo. But don't really want to cut the belly pan and chance snow getting in. Its a trail sled not a race sled

I have 1400 miles of fact with pb80 at 21psi and I have not changed the belt once. your problem is elsewhere if you jump belts to 200 miles. even if you have a STM you will break it anyway. the problem is elsewhere.

I had misalignment and added 3mm of shim to my secondary. It got better but still had very hot belts. My pb80 broke the spring cup. I am sure there are other issues but I also know I want a better clutch that is more tunable

do you have a XS or xr body? I don't have a Shim in high school and I've never broken a belt in 3200 miles.

What set up in the secondary

50/36 Dalton helix with i think black yellow red spring set with 24lbs preload. It is the setup I was given by a reputable turbo shop. The owner did say I might need to lower the preload but never got the chance

I was running daycare 5034 belts and getting the 200 miles then I switched to ultimax 821 and shimmed the secondary that improved the mileage to about 600 mmiles.but the belt and secondary Temps were still hotter then I would like to see

Your clutch alignment is still way off I was blowing belts every 300 miles. I shimmed my secondary 3mm. Now a night and day difference I get 1500miles to 2000miles on a belt. 22lbs of boost

Its an xs and I had to add 3 mill of shim to get rid of the noticeable misalignment
