Broke a roller in the driven clutch with 2900 miles on my 2017 MXZx 850.
Is this a common thing on 850's ??
Can I expect this again in another 2500 miles or so ??
Just curious...................
Thanks !!

Common with the helix slamming against the roller unfortunately. I just did preventive maintenance and changed to the Frett Hardened rollers.

A lot of this problem is self induced. After using reverse you should ease into the power to avoid slamming the rollers. I’ve seen people back up, hit the switch, grab the throttle and bang!

I had a roller break on my '18 with 1500 miles.  I was super disappointed that one would break at that mileage..I did a search and it seems to me a common problem and spoke to two dealers who confirmed they see it all the time. And, it's not covered under warranty...I bought aftermarket which are supposed to be stronger than stock...

Because it’s a wear part.

Where can I find a how to video or step by step on removing rollers on 17 gen 4 QRS? I have mine out. Im guessing the bearing has to come off so I can drive pins out of roller torx screws?

Do not have to remove bearing. You need a clutch tool to compress spring and re move the helix. You can search you tube. should find one. The jack shaft has to come out.. Have to take a punch and push them out..

I have that all done. There is a white plastic ring where spring was against and not sure it is removable but looking at parts diagram it appearently is so you can get at pins
