Hi all just looking for some insight into what every one is doing so far clutching wise with the jaws pipe combo. Are you utilizing stock clutching with minor weight a spring changes to control revs or have you put in new ramps helix? or just gone the route of a complete clutch kit. I have a jaws pipe on the way so just looking for some info on how to best utilize the extra HP and get it to the ground from this pipe. Thanks! Let me know what belt you are using for your set up as well

Have not tried this but a simple way of of tuning for the extra power with the jaws would be to switch from your doo belt to an 821 as they tend to pull rpms down 3-400 of stock belt. Could be a good starting point, you could also get a set of the Goodwin clickers for fine tuning 1/2 clicker positions.

Why not just call jaws and ask them what to run for clutching, they would know what works for their pipe set-up!

Jaws pipe recommends the new reeds kit, I understand that. I am asking what others have done to clutch this pipe whether it was a kit or their own brew..

If you are interested in a kit I like the Hrss, I suggested what I did because there are other ways to do it depending on what you want.

Running the HRSS Pdm kit with 2 1.35gram weights in 1 3 and 4 hole with jaws pipe. This is what’s recommended in latest release from HRSS and it works great

Also running the PDM kit with the Jaws pipe & stock gear. Tested with 1-heavy & 1-light in hole 1, 3, 4 and it pulled very hard to 100 but ran 81 - 82 and my sled likes 80 - 81. I'll add some weight and a 26 top gear next time out. Best speed at about 1500' was 111 on GPS.

It did help down low and mid over last years kit ( will not say who's it was ) but I do think it will pull more top speed. I didn't try to change the peak rpm down. Need to use the same gear and belt to test both kits equally. I Will make the changes then I'll know after the next test.

Just got back from a short local rip- 17 850, jaws y and pipe, v force reeds, hrss clutch kit set  to jaws pipe also 26 tooth top gear. 109 mph on gps- 116 on lie-ometer. still pulling 8200, need to tweak it some more. Love the 26 tooth top gear change.

Hit 119 on snow/ice packed road this am with Hrss and new pdm2, 205/305 secondary pulling 8130rpm on top. Swinging 85.2g and need a fraction more. The pull and response on this setup is best described as violent, best part is clutch and belt temp is the coolest I have ever had on a G4 and most of my xp's.
