Ok, so I'm getting all my sleds ready for this winter. Got an 2007 ski doo summit xrs 800 I checked the compression 90 psi and 95 psi. I ran the sled until it was up to operating temps and held the throttle at wide open during the test. I guess my question is should i go ahead and do a top rebuild just for preventive maintenance or just run it another year? The elevation here is about 500 ft i had it tested at a shop about 5 years ago and both were at 140 psi. Any help would be appreciated

A couple of things that come to mind like how well it runs and if you have another sled that will show ~140 psi with the same gauge.

Most of the 07 Summit XRS i have tested are in the 140-145 PSI range. Had one at 95 PSI. It needed a full rebuild. Crank run out was .025" as well.

For what its worth my 2007 summit had a 130-135 PSI of compression when I bought it. Had 400KM on a BRP long block at the time. A few years later I rebuilt the motor and still had the same compression. Before the rebuild a friend overheated the engine, engine was a pain to start and the electronic reverse didn't work anymore. Compression test showed 90-95PSI.
