So I recently bought and installed an 8" big wheel kit off of HRSS. I wanted the 4th wheel and was curious about the less rolling resistance proclaimed. Long story short I needed to move the skid forward and use the extra plugged bolt holes an inch forward from stock in order to fit skid back in. This obviously changes the geometry and I don't know what to do. At first I thought I could move the rear mount aluminum arm forward 1 degree on spline but there is only one way the spline goes together as there is a flat spot (key) that needs to line up.
Anyone know the repercussion of changing the angle on these mounting points as I have done? I really noticed a difference with coupler block on 4, there is hardly any travel in suspension it seems. Block on 1 feels most normal when pushing around on rear of sled. HRSS had no answers for me and I am concerned this may affect the handling of this sled.
Someone else must have put one of these on.
Any help would be appreciated.

bar549 put 9" wheels on his with an offset axle. No mention of suspension mounting location changes.

He must have had to upsize the track to a 137" to fit 9"s

Return it and just get the Doo 4th wheel kit? Juice doesn't sound worth the squeeze to me.

Call a different manufacture of 8 inch wheels and pick their brain about their product. Answers can be found from many sources.

Youll need an offset axle and put the skid back in the original hole

Interesting

HRSS states for the 8" big wheel kit:

"This fits 137" skids and It will not fit 120" , 121" skids. It will fit a 129" with some adjustments and a track with some miles that has stretched from brand new."

Tricked Toys states for the 10" big wheel kit:

"All of the pieces to our kit will simply bolt right onto your sled, no permanent modifications will need to be made to your sled, and you could easily put your sled back to stock. You will require a 128/129 inch track to do this modification, as there is no way to fit a 10 inch wheel on a short track sled using the factory track, the wheels would interfere with your suspension."

I used Trick Toys 9" wheels with offset axle and my original 129" track, used same skid mounting locations. Show us a picture of the offset axle, from what I can see, it looks stock! When you say, it would not fit stock location, please explain more.

The front skid bolt did not fit stock location, needed to move it forward to plugged hole and place plug in stock hole.b43a9c70993c3cc67714509558cafd24.jpg9b7da7403163531144a8852a9de4c34f.jpg

Show me a picture of the rear wheels and adjuster in the sled. I had to relocate the cross support rod just in front of the rear wheels so mine would fit. Wrong part or installation issue!

I couldn't spin the axle around because of center wheels hitting cross brace on rails
You relocated that?afd1d10efc652607e8763e8d6dff216b.jpgdc6d443f99ef498c7f3fd29cd2b33c7b.jpg

That's your issue, the set up is installed backwards. The cross brace has to be relocated. I relocated mine just below the stoppers on the rails.
