Hey guys,

I'm looking at moving my 1200 back to a 120 track as the 136 extension runs hot with the stock cooler.. I looked into replacing the cooler with a renagade and it looks like a huge pain and on the last ride last season, coming over an approach, the rear tension bolt bent down letting the track come loose on the one side.   Adding a rad is another option, but its just as expensive as a track.

So.

I went through all the track reviews but most seem to be from 2015-2016 when the talon tracks were first really available in mass quantities.  I see some really liked them and another (Kevin s) saw wear and I believe he rides around me here in Manitoba.

For those of you  that have a composit track on your sled hows it holding up after several seasons and 1000s of miles?

I had a Camso intense 1.5 inch track on my 2006 800 and put on 10 000 kms on it before the sled went down and it was missing lugs but i rode the "edit for bad language" of it.  I'm older now and mainly run trails but miss of the off trail side a bit more that the 1.25 x 16x136 track has so i'm leaning towards a 120 1.5 inch track. Specifically the t38.   If a good used 1.25 inch ripsaw pops up near me i may grab it and ride it for a while and then maybe sell my 1200 and grab a renegade.. But.. with it being a 2010 1200 with 2500 miles on it, the motor is still pretty new.

I put a 1.75 backcountry x on my mxz in 2014 put close to 5000 km on it and it looked like the day I bought it. I just sold that sled or else I would post a picture of how the track looked. I rode probably 60-40 on to off trail with it and it preformed perfectly in both.

Ripsaw 2 Two Ply

are you saying for for a ripsaw 2 1.5 inch 2 ply? over the composit 38 1.5 inch?   I liked the paddles on my intense.

How long did it take to drill out all the rivets?

I'm more worried about the slp extension breaking or the bolt bending again killing my trip vs, stock setup.  was contemplating a 129 with the stock tunnel and no extenion.. My 2010 does not have the drop cooler at the back.

Track USA Extensions. I say about 4 hours to do just the tunnel. I grinded it than took a punch to it to knock them out.

Thanks.. I would be only interested in swapping the heat exchanger, or track..not both.. I like the 136, but i'm worried about the extension breaking. as well.. I looked at swapping to 136 rails but  i MAY need to change shocks/mounting points as well from what i read..

The cheapest solution is going to a nice used 120 track, sell the extension, and track and then maybe sell the sled.. I think it will be harder to sell with the extension for a fair price.

But.. I'm leaning towards a talen 38 120 track and want to see what everyone else is seeing for durability.
