Got a 2014 154 I picked up that was totaled so I don’t know the history of the motor. I’m rebuilding it for peace of mind and an putting a 2016 Silber turbo on. Anything to do so it handles the boost better and lasts a bit longer? I was gonna do balanced and rebuilt crank, dual ring pistons, and just put the thickest base gasket in to be on the safer side. Open to opinions and suggestions. I’ve done my fair share of motor and sled work but im new to the boost game.

Sno-x rods handle boost better than stock. There are lots of opinions on forged pistons in 2 strokes but anything with boost I prefer forged over cast or hypereutectic. Just make your piston to wall clearance is set properly for the heat expansion of a cast piston. Again lots of opinions but I like welded cranks too.
