The fire remains under investigation?! Haha.. I think at this point determining why it caught fire is impossible!
I did a snowmobile fire RCA in the past on a Yamaha RX-1 (mostly the fire was contained within the exhaust system )- tried everything to replicate what happened or could have happened. We never did figure it out..The guy got a new sled.

Thank you for your concern but That is not my sled. You should reach out to- Nicholas Mauch the sleds owner. You must have his contact information. Right?
That sucks.. The season is short enough so I hope he gets a new one soon...Maybe he was going so fast it burst into flames before it went through the space time continuem
Natural consequence of going "Full Plaid" during break-in. Just kidding. Bad day for the poor owner. Very fortunate that no one was injured, and help arrived. Hopefully he gets a replacement sled soon. It would be a shame if that were a Spring Order.
This guy is a jerk. We are hoping to freeze the swamps, and this guy is trying to melt them!
