So the 800 Etec flywheel is 92 ft lbs,

and the 800 Ptek flywheel is 70 ft lbs?

Does anyone know the stator bolt torque spec for 800 etec?

I believe there is a special tool you bolt onto the flywheel.   Check with C&T Powersports, or G&R

I was able to put a Snap On pry bar tip between the recoil housing, one of the holes on the flywheel, and a Emod. This was at about the 0800 clock position. There is a bump out in that spot. I tried two bolts and a pry bar but I was starting to bend them. Granted, not grade 8.

No issue torquing to 90Ft.

Literally just got done doing this an hour ago.

And to loosen the flywheel nut, turn to the left/counter clock wise as normal ?

Some application is opposite direction why I ask. Hard to find this simple information for the Etec

Just done this yesterday as I installed a new crank in my 05. It is 92# on a powertek also. My stator bolts are to be torqued at 80 inch pounds which equals about 7 foot pounds.

6000 miles on original crank never touched which is why I changed. PTO side grease was blackish gray and still full. Mag side was same color but had lost a little, pushed out about a finger glob below the seal and enough to just put about 2 drips on the stator. Far better than I expected

Take a close look at the torque spec for the engines I listed below. Then ask yourself why would only one Liquid Cooled engine in the past two decades have a whopping 22 ft-lbs less..............

Keep in mind the nut is a right hand thread, same direction as the engine. In comparison the CVT is threaded the opposite direction of the engine rotation. This is good thing, because if/when the clutch gets loose - and it often does - then it self tightens.

Think about this carefully, because it's about 4 lbs spinning at 8,000 rpm.

It is 92# except in all of the shop manuals, although I don't have any for the 800R P-TEK above 2012.  Can you imagine how many 800R are put together with 70# ?  It's a frightening thought.
