Odd indeed. It lowers the top speed which can cause other problems.

They are not geared as low as the T3 174 yet, those were geared 19/51, or 2.68 ratio. The new stuff is a 2.52

Are the track drivers the same diameter as past xp/xs sleds?

erm...

G4 - 3.5 pitch, 6 tooth @ 50.30 constant

XM/XS - 7T x 3" = 50.29

.......same diameter and speed

I can't wait to gear lower and lower my top speed.  I think I will encounter problems of hanging on when the sled hooks, and explore more clutch setting opportunities....i mean, problems.

IMHO

2.5-2.7 gearing was to help the TRA vs flyweight polaris/cat clutches (they gear 2.0-2.2 and have less issues with belts) and to gear down a 2018 sled (21/53) with a 172 hp motor running a flyweight clutch is UN acceptable...

FIX the weights (2018 spec 170/400, 200/400 springs will be wrong) there is an EASY fix for the 2017s (keeping 967 weight, 40 helix, stock gearing) both parts in parts bin at doo...

FIX motor mounts...

FIX belt deflection video...

FIX dealers PDI check list so customer doesnt leave with WRONG set up-BJ

Why did Doo start putting a 53bottom gear in? Seems odd. Not being sarcastic. Just wondering.

Ive run the 2.52 ratio before but it was only available in a Belt drive. I think its a sweet ratio myself and was stoked to hear about the 53 bottom tooth gear. Im just unhappy it wont fit in a xm case.

The 2018 fiche is posted now. But no pulley section yet?( would like to get the finned primary ordered) Never took the time to look at the 18 motor mounts vs the 17 to see if they are actually different part numbers.
