The SLP had a hard bracket to the frame. With the vibration of the sled it ripped a hole in the pipe. The SLP had a longer design the stretched all the way to the nose of the sled. The MBRP was much shorter.

Ok. The new SLP header doesn't have that bracket anymore, no bracket at all. I think MBRP had cracking issues as well until they moved the bracket to the other side of the frame. Don't really see any reason to have the mount at all. If your sled is radiator equipped the MBRP is an easier mount because as you mentioned, it is a fair bit shorter. Both good choices for different reasons I guess.
