Do you know exactly where the fluid was coming from? I've been through this. I would fire up sled and would run fine at warm up and first 2-3 miles and bam steam and fluid and no fan. There is a hose fitting on the front of the block towards the top and to the right of center. Turns out the the the heat of the blot and the fitting did not play well together. Different in temperature cracked the fitting and once the Temps even out the leak would stop. This must have happened 4 or 5 times before dealer was able to recreate problem. I'll see if I can pull the shop records for more details. Good luck.

I remember some cars would use a different temp probe for the gauge than they would use to control the fan. I don't think it is the case for these sleds, but it might be.
Does this one have the relay and fuse hanging on their own up toward the front, or in the fuse box with the rest of them? Since the fan itself works, double check the relay and ALL your fuses (some things are fused twice). If nothing there, as mentioned above, make a little jumper and bypass the common and N.O. Contact of the relay. If the fan comes on, it's likely a temp sensor or ecu issue. If it doesn't, it's a broken wire somewhere along the way. I'll take a look at my schematics today and double check.
the reason I mentioned my experience is that my fan would never come on either. I assumed that it was over heating because my fan was not coming on. My understanding is that the stat setting is pretty high on secondary cooling.
I hear of this hose leak problem with the 1200's but i believe this is a different issue,,,,the fan won't come on...
Hey guys. Thank you all for your help. It was the connection under the hood that clips to the bulkhead. I finally got some time to troubleshoot more today.
Much appreciated.
