Just spoke with my dealer and my Enduro 900 shipped yesterday.!!!

He also confirmed I will not need the update done and it was done at the factory. He said even if they are in the crates they will bring them back into the plant and unpack them to do the updates before they ship. BRP doesn't want to pay the dealers to do it.

Only the 900's that shipped before the recall was issued will need done.

When was yours manufactured? There seems to be some conflicting information. Some people said on here that anything manufactured after September would not need the recall while others have said ALL 2016 900's will need it regardless of when it was manufactured.

Mine was mfg prior to September.

Guess I had better call my dealer. I picked my sled up last week, but its been here for at least 6 weeks.

Called the dealer and he had already changed out the valve cover. The subject was not mentioned at the time I picked it up, which is odd?

 

Curious to know "what" it is/was about the defective cover that caused excessive oil consumption. I imagine at some point someone will have some details.

it wouldn't seal flat ,incorrect machining ,,then you'd get a leak .

I'm also curious as to why the old cover can lead to higher oil consumption. This would tell me whether I could get away with driving it  for a few hundred miles before bringing it in.

I guess if it leaks you will have to add oil thus higher oil consumption.

My dealer told me I could bring it back and have the update and initial inspection done simultaneously.  I also called BRP to confirm that it would be ok to wait and the person I spoke to said "no problem". If I hadn't already hauled my sled 5 hours north I would have brought it back now.  The question I didn't ask and am wondering about is if the leaking oil will make a big mess if I wait.

I am assuming that it could make a mess depending on how much it leaks, but then also it is not to say that every single machine is going to leak?

Just picked up my 900 Blizzard today - dealer ran the vin & it didn't need the update.

Oct build date on the tunnel...

What is build date on tunnel? Could be you have a prior build that was just sitting there....
