What about the 900's being built now? I'd think they would get the updates before leaving the factory.

Was told only the one's built before September, after should be ok.
Not sure how far back this bad batch of covers goes!

Stopped by my dealer tonight to check on the ship date of my Enduro 900. He told me that it is in the inner valve cover and not the outer valve cover. He said it is a pretty major job once the sled is built. He said you have take most of the front of the sled apart to be able disassemble the engine enough to get to the inner valve cover.
I'm glad it is shipping this week and should already have the valve cover update. I'd hate to have a new sled torn apart like that.......

Just wondering how to find a copy of the 2016-2 bulletin?
I found it pretty difficult to try and find the document?
Can anybody post a copy or a link to it?
thanks.

That's what my dealer said... he said inner valve cover and not the outer valve cover. I thought that sounded odd. I only saw the one valve cover in the exploded parts view of the 900.
My guess it is a bear to get off and you have to take off a lot of stuff on the front of the sled to get to it but if the recall says 1.1 hours for the entire job, that doesn't sound too difficult or involved.
I'm still hoping that any of the 900's shipping now would have the update. I would think they would rather do the update on the line while everything is out than assembling it knowing that it all has to be replaced when it gets to the dealer.

My dealer called me today and said my 2016 900ACE Renegade is ready for pickup - recall completed.
He told me they replaced the valve cover due to improper machining...said they used the same gaskets even, just a new cover was installed.

When was yours manufactured? There seems to be some conflicting information. Some people said on here that anything manufactured after September would not need the recall while others have said ALL 2016 900's will need it regardless of when it was manufactured.

My sales guy may have been confused on the inner / outer comment he made.
It would be good to hear from some one who picked up a 900 ACE in September and October to see if they needed the new valve cover or it was done before assembly by that point.

Here's a photo of the front page of bulletin. Next 3 pages are step by step of replacing valve cover.
I picked up my machine(16 expy se) in the beginning of Oct. Dropped it back off yesterday.
