Dead tach

Anyone ever had a dead tach? Just put a new motor in my sled and now the tach reads 0. Where do I look?

Just dropped a new shortblock into my sled and now my tach does not work. I believe it reads from one of the magnets on the flywheel or magneto can anyone confirm this? Shouldn't be to hard to track down. Anyone else had this problem?
