Mystery hose

Had to remove my shocks to install some vents, and noticed this little hose just sittin there in the open, and then noticed this other little nipple pretty close to the hose. Both are located next to the left shock tower.
So my question is.... are these two little buggers supposed to be together, or just there for my enjoyment
of confusion?
