I recently cracked up my 2005 mxz 800ho and am looking at a couple options to replace it.  I am trying to decide between a 2008 Mxz xp 800 ptek and a 2011 mxz xp 600 etec.  The sleds are only about $500 different in price.  

I was looking at some posts and I see that the 08 800 has had some crank issues.  The 800 does have  3 years left on extended warranty.  

I spoke to a biased cat salesman and he told me the etec engine is having issues but he was not specific.  I don't know if he was being truthful or just trying to sell me a ditch pickle.  The doo salesman tells me that the 600 etec will be as fast as my 2005 800ho.

I don't wanna lose a ton of power dropping to a 600, was the doo salesman right?  I was leaning towards the ptek til I read the forum about the crank issues.  Any input would be appreciated.
