2007 800 XRS

24 September 2012 - 06:14 PM

Selling my baby!  Sled has 1640 miles on the original motor.  Just put a new belt on at the end of last season (it has about 70 miles on it).  Only mod to the engine would be an aftermarket can, I put the sway bar quick release on it for when I'm riding the trails, I also put the ski doo hand guards on.  I have the jerry can and tunnel bag as well.

Looking to sell for $5500.

If interested please send me a pm or email and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Summit HM 700 Rebuild

06 September 2012 - 11:05 PM

Hello everyone. I've decided to rebuild the 700 that seized up this past winter. I am very new to the rebuild scene of snowmobiling, and am pretty excited to say the least.

I'm going to be on here pretty regularly through the build looking for advice from the experts! Here is a few pics of what I am working with at the moment.

I took the motor to my local dealer and they said the crank bearings seized and would cost me around $2000 to fix. This is just my spare sled for buddies to ride so I'm in no rush to get it done before the snow, and I would also like to finish it for relatively cheap.

I am obviously redoing the crank, but seeing the superb condition of the pistons, I'll be redoing the top end as well. I would like some suggestions as to brands to look for or conversely look OUT for, and some tips and tricks you guys have learned along the way.

Thanks in advance.

700cc Engine questions

I unfortunately had my crank bearings seize up on boxing day.  I took my sled into the local dealer and they quoted me $2000 to rebuild it and doing the top end while in there.  I was just wondering if that seemed like a fair price.  If it is, I would be interested in selling the chassis, as I do not think $2000 is worth dropping into a 12 year old sled.  It is in good shape, no dents or cracks anywhere.  Not sure if anyone is looking for a used chassis, but you never know unless you ask I suppose.
