all of the outer bearings are sealed and use isoflex for lubrication.the center bearings have an oil bath.
if you dont want to do the crank at very least to a leak test to make sure you dont have leaky carb boots or seals

it is the plastic cowl that has the dash and gauges attached to it. There's 2 little screws at the very front and 2 on the side, then it just pulls out of the way. it's really easy to do. hope it works for you

there is a connector on the main harness going up to the handlebars that gets corroded. It will cause intermittant/no/weak spark. Seriously before you try anything else check the plug.
It happened on my friends sled, started the sled on the trailer, backed it off, shut it off to gear up then it had no spark.

check the main harness connector going up to the handlebars. You have to take the plastics off to get at it. it will cause weak/ no spark.
