In Topic: Klim gear advice

Ridgerunner-

I am a big guy too, I have not found the Gear to run that small. I am surprised you are in a 4X. I am just under 6' and 10 short of 3 and I wear 3X and it is big on me.

I wear the valdez jacket and extreme bibs.  Depending on what type of riding I am doing (trail or off trail) and the temp I layer differently.  I always start with a Under Armor cold gear shirt then add the the Inferno shirt if I am trail riding.

Under the bibs I wear under Armor with some techical hiking pants.  If it is cold and I am trail riding then I wear a pair of wader liners that I use for hunting (got them from Herters years ago).  The key with Klim is that you need to make sure you wear no cotton under the gear or the system will never work as it it intended.

For me, switching to Klim was a great decision.  It took a bit to get past the price, but once I did, I have been very happy.

Thanks for the info. Used a nut driver, that seemed to be the smartest....

I have Grip-n-Rip, which are much stiffer.  I am however looking to upgrade to the WRP running board kit as I would like them even stiffer.

Been raining here all day, with a bit of snow mixed in...Going to hit 40 degrees tomorrow.... The UP has very little except the Northern tip of the Keweenaw which has 10".  Good news is they should be getting some LES up there this weekend into Monday...but still not enough.  This sucks!

In Topic: Tunnel stiffeners

27 December 2011 - 08:21 PM

I know there has been a bunch of talk about this subject. But...
I am just looking to stiffen the running boards on my 04 REV. I looked at the WRP stuff and it seems a bit drastic for what I need. I Just want to keep them from folding under when I land. I am a trail rider most all the time so snow build up is not an issue. I am prolly gonna get some of the BRP stiffeners unless there are better suggestions.
ANY HELP is much appreciated.
TIA

I have the Grip N Rip ones on my sled (09 summit), I am a bigger guy (with gear pushing 300#)and they have kept the tunnel from bending....
