The adaptor plate goes no farther down,   that I noticed,   Also the plastic bosses are on the outside of everything so they should be no problem.

They are a PITA to get the clamp lined up right the first time or two.

With the air box split in half it's not that bad.  After a couple of times thru it your wonder what all the fuss was about.

Trying to think of anything that would be blocking, and coming up blank. bummer.

FAQ's 2nd page

Note. #7.
7. Once that piece is removed you have to remove the donuts from the plastic piece and then install the unifilters. make sure you use the OEM clamps from the donuts and not the Unifilter clamps. The OEM ones are alot smaller and fit alot better

hope this helps

" I felt it would be better to sandwich it between the battery frame and sled frame as shown below. That should help keep a nice tight fit."

Just not a good idea to sandwich copper between two pieces of steel. The two steel parts are going to flex and will wear both sides of the copper causing a loose connection. Your better off going under the nut or bolt head. That way you hope the bolt and the one steel part move together with no wear to the copper.

If you like your cousin's then try and buy the same.

Sears has a good selection:

Lots to choose from and some higher price ones are not that good.  :-(

Snap 0n, Mac, KD tools in order,  will give you a good tester. The price goes down in order too. :-)

Take your time and find one that will last and accurate.  Your going to have/use it for long time.

Mine is a least 30 years old and still works fine for home use. Craftsman

When I was working we had Snap on.  Hard to beat the quality but the price reflexes that too.

There is a Crimp, solder and heat shrink connectors.
Sealed is one company, Wurth USA is another. I've used the sealed on the boat and the sled, work good. Just hard to find.
