Not to hijack this thread but my 2009 1200....was driving on trail on saturday, bogged and popped and a big flame shot out at me. Fuel instantly caught fire and sled burnt to ground. Have no idea what caused it. Could fuel actually get in airbox? Injectors are past butterfly.
We have found why the Skidoo 1200 goes boom riding down the trail after a long hard pull when you let off and it blows flames and the hood right off sled.
The fitting on the end of fuel rail can blow off causing high pressure fuel vapours to be ignited by red hot exhaust. The reason we figured it out was a customer got fire out and rode sled back after it cooled off. I have had 3 sled now with same problem. Got pictures of what we do now to fuel rail.
This time only one side of plastic thing was leaking when hot.
Also new fittings we order in from Seadoo have now 2 orings that fit inside fuel rail.
If anyone is using higher pressure regulator on turbo it could fail for sure.
No fuel regulator on brand new 1200 all done up burn to the ground after riding about 500 kms
The one in picture is from 2009 that was turboed in 2009 and after years it went bang like a gun going off and he had to find the hood afterwards.
