About Me
As a family we got our first machine for the Christmas of 66, A 15 hp Moto Ski. then in 69 we got the 292 hirth moto ski Capri and I got my first machine in 71 a 250 12 hp moto ski capri. after wearing that out and borrowing big brothers machines when I could. I bought my brothers 76 340 sonic in 78. had that for 4 years and sold it to my other brother. i was out of snowmobling untill 1990 when I bought a new formula plus. Road that for a year then got the drag racing bug for a couple of years.I really did quite well dragging it. Sold it in 95 and bought a new 96 formula 3 . Loved that but needed more power so I bought the new Mach 1 700 the next year. Had that for a couple years and with family had no time for snowmobiling so I sold it. that brings me up to a couple years ago when we would leave work on some fridays to go ski dooing. My brother would let me borrow his machine so I could go with the guys. The kid is grown and I realized i REALLY MISSED IT so I bought a 2004 MXZX 800 Ho this spring and can not wait to go.---Jeff

TRA #3 Bushing Service limit
12 January 2013 - 11:44 AM
Hi ,
I was on Joe's site getting info on the bushing wear limits for my tra 3 since 500 rpm's have gone somewhere and didn't inform me where they went ! When I printed off the info it said TRA 7 on the top of the page. Are the 3 service limit's the same ?
Thanks

Who grew up on Moto Ski

Hi, Just wondering how many people had moto ski's back in the day. they where our famliey's sled of choice in the begining. Here's what we had.
Christmas 65 , Dad brings home a 14 hp Capri, Man, that went non stop for the first 5 day's. we had a ton of snow and that thing would sink to the bottom. Mom and Dad would go 2 up with friends on it, WOW.
Then in 69 we got a 19 hp capri and 12 hp cadet
70 Mom got he own 292 capri
70 big brother got a 340 capri single, hirth, I remeber him run a straight pipe on it every now and then, back when noise ment power!
72 other brother got a 440 grand prix, BSE motor
74 TS 400 P.O.S. when ran on 2 cylinder it did not go to bad, said BSE, rumors was it was a rotax.
76 Sonic 340, brother's, later I bought it from him...wish I still had it.
after this we branched out to diffrent brands for a while, That how we started.

Co workers and their sled's

As the title says, what doo the people you work around have for machines and do you have to listen to them . Well I am the only Doo here on the second floor, which I relize makes me a easy target. I am an project manager for a hvac company. The other 2 P.M.'s have yamaha's one 06 nytro and the other 09 nytro. Boss has a 04 SXV or what ever that thing is, but he doesn't say much and gets a laugh out of us arguing about them. Also the manager of the pipe supply shop who goes with us has a 07 Apex and the son of one of the P.M.'s has a 10 Nytro. Anyways, I here about how great Yamaha is all the time, their more B.S 'ers and I am on the quiet side and like to give them the facts, I like to bring up the 13% market share thing. One nytro we had to limp back with a bent rear suspesion last year and the Apex over heated on a icey day before we even hit the trail. They hate being reminded of this.Thank god nothing has ever happen to my sled on any trip out. But ,I have switched with them a few times and even though mine is a 04 MXZX (800HO ported and set up) there's no way I would even consider one of them. Suspension wise my 04 is far ahead of there' 10"s and the weight is not even close. engine power seams good, handing sucks and heavy ,heavy, heavy...well built though. Are any of you other people out their Doo Loners. i guess I am just venting and the season has not started yet.

4 downloadsA friend bought this shock off craig's list. The seller said it was rebuildable. Has a N2 port on bottom, differant than what I am used to seeing. But I don't see a way to get the top off. No model # on shock. It is a 17 1/4" length shock . What is it and is it rebuildable. Thanks Jeff
