1 mile ride it there you will just use more oil and the motor will smoke more wont hurt or burn down a piston or cylinder should be just fine . I broke mine and rode it 26 miles like that everyone behind me just stayed back further as I was puttin up a smoke screen I used about a 1/2 a tank of oil in those 26 miles and never hurt a thing .

sorry im no help. im going through the same thing. i just ordered 1" protectors and i have a 1" track with 1 1/4 studs. im sure someone has some imput for you. good luck



  Good chance you are going to tear up your bulkhead with that long of a stud on a 96 Mach-Z ! Keep your track tight !

Cut out or grind out the rubber on the track where the protectors are making contact take out just enough so that the protectors clear the track so it is not rubbing or touching the protectors then ride it any touching of the 2 will do the rest of it if it is needed, do not cut or grind out the plastic 1 inch protectors .
