In Topic: S36 shock assembly question

The ring on the left shock in the picture is just the inner tin ring from the stock Everest shocks. Do not run it like that, buy yourself another ring like the right shock has!

Is there much benefit to retrofitting a sled with the T-Motion kit if you don't switch out to a FlexEdge track? Stills seems like you'd benefit in an easier effort to roll it... Thanks.

Put one on an 09. Seems like it helps easier effort in rolling it over ( on the concrete)

In 10 the shock is longer and rails different. So if a shock had been changed or rails then binding. That's why they make the shock relocate kits

Both 08 and 12 have the same front arm.

08 shock /08 rails. Ok

12 shock/12 rails. Ok

08 shock/12 rails. Not ok

12 shock/08 rails. Not ok

Or Atleast that's how I'm seeing it. In the 12s the shock mount is further to the back of the rail, requiring a longer shock. They basically changed the motion of travel of the front arm.

Any one want to pull their 2010 - 2012 summit skid out and see it the front arm bottoms on the rails?

I will be taking the skid out of my 11 to put another tMotion kit in it! Hopefully tommorow!

If someone can check their stock 08-09 skid to see if it bottoms out that would be great!

All I know is that when I mounted the tMotion in the 2012 FR 154" skid, the front arm bottomed out on the rails, everything cycled as it should.

I'm curious why emans isn't bottoming out. Like I said - you don't want that shock bottoming out on the rail rod before the arm hits the bump stops.

eman, was the shock completely bottomed out, or was there any rod exposed when the arm stopped short of the rail bump stops?

To me if the front arm on the 08 is the same as the 12. Then essentially if you have a 2010 (longer shock) you need 2010 rails. If you have 09(shorter shock) you need 09 rails.

Meaning 08-09 skids may not have bottomed to begin with?

The shock bottomed before the arm stopped moving!
