In Topic: Price for a 2012 Skandic

27 February 2013 - 11:26 PM

I think retail a year ago was $7500? I also think this is a good or very good deal at best, and a fair deal at worst.

Must be a bad snow year down there? Or bad economy?

Last year I bought a 2005 WT for $3000 and was super happy with that price.

Good Luck....AK

Think the larger track are harder to handle in twisty, tight places or going sideways on hill.If you are talking '93 Skandic era, they were pig in snow ,too much weight on front, wrong track angle and suspension position and heavy as hell.

Was there an 18" track in '93? - there was a 16.5" wide track sometime in that era. To the OP: What year and model do you have?....AK

In Topic: 1995 skandic track upgrade

i got a question on where to get the best plastic driver teeth. I am still working on this 95 skandic WT and I could not find a new 1.97 bt 154 by 20 track so i had to settle for a 2.52 by 156 by 20. Now i need to upgrade the driveshaft drivers and the sprockets in the rear of the skid to something that will fit. The guy i am doing this for dosn't care about speed so I was thinking using 7 tooth drivers to get extra clearance for this new 1.25 ripsaw and give the sled lots more pulling power. Now i can get some for 30$ each but is the rear sprokets at the back of the skid the same as the driver teeth or they special ones. and how well this set up will work with the new 2.52 size drivers.

The 95 Skandic WT is 2.52. You might have your year wrong. Although I have never heard of a 1.97 20" WT.....AK

Possible Exception: the 90-94 "nordik"s

I'm in the same boat, generally.  Though I'm looking to spend 6-8K on a 2010-2012 out the door.  Best I've run across so far has been a 2011 SWT V-800 for $9050 (plus tt&r), a 2012 WT 550F for $7900 (plus tt&r), and a 2013 WT 550F $8600 (plus tt&r).  If I stumble across anything in the 3-4k range I'll pass it along.  Have you run in to any stock in the Chippewa Valley?  Hayward?  The Twin Cities?

Those prices are pretty much "fair-market" and direct-sellers would settle for less than that.

Best deal I ever got was a 2003 Skandic WT for $3K. I would have happily paid $3500.....AK
