Hey all,
My good friend has converted his Mach Z to a long track and needs some help, so I told him that I'd ask you good skidoo folks here if you might be able to offer some insight.
First off, the sled details.
2000 Mach Z converted basically to Mach Z LT, but it's not the LT
upgrades:
converted from 121" to 136" track with 1 3/4" lugs
w/ 8 tooth antiratcheting drive
Currently all gearing and clutch set-up is from the stock sled.
Needs:
looking good clutching & gear set-up to trail ride- ride approx. 65/35 - UP/LP trails respectively
not looking for speed - he's looking for good corner to corner sled
Any and all suggestions for clutch and gearing set-up is appreciated. Any pitfalls to look for with the 1 3/4" track (cooling issues, etc.) would be helpful also.
He's also having a problem removing the primary clutch. I believe he said that the clutch has only been off a couple of times and it been at least 3-4 years since the last time it was off. He hasn't ridden it since he converted the sled in 2006. Any suggestions/tricks to try to remove the clutch without screwing up the motor/crank would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
