I currently have a 2012 Summit X 163 and I want to put a 3 inch in there for next year. I'm not in the STEEP climbs but  lots of trees riding and opening trails in the wild. I'm currently looking at a 162 as I would be able to keep every thing else stock minus 7 tooths drivers. But in the back of my head I can't ignore the 174... I know I need to mod the tunnel and rails as well as 7 tooths drivers or avid chaincase but I can figure that the 174 will be much more of a track.

 

What do you guys suggest ? Is there a big difference between 162 and 174 ? Will the 3 inch climb noticably better than my stock 2.5 ? Anyone has first hand experience with the new style of 3 inch tracks ?

Anyone know what is the difference between those 2 ? I know the X3 is lighter than the CE but is there anything else ? Any comment is much appreciated !

I would like to know if there is any issues when you declip a 2.5" track as I know there is one with the 3" track. Do you think I can notice a difference if I declip and port the track ? Doing two holes right behind the lug.
