New York Registration placement (XS)

Where you guys putting it at...I have stared my sled into total submission with stickers in hand and can not come up with a place that I like. Just "edit for bad language" me off that I have to put these on the cowl over my nice shiney panels....tunnel would be so much easier! Open to opinions and ideas any and all NY'ers!
Clutch tower brace on a 2013 needed?
26 November 2012 - 11:30 PM
Had a Raceworx on my 09' 800R and never blew a belt. Is one necessary on the newer updated towers or should I save my money? Will the braces offered even clear the new plastics? Thanks in advance for the feedback guys!

1000cc sled? Help me with this one please...
25 November 2012 - 08:37 PM
Hate to speculate and say what my brothers uncle heard and what will the 2016 sleds look like and will we get a turbo sled sometime soon etc. etc. etc.... but I was trolling some shock/spring info on the Doo site for my 2013 and ran into this. Can anyone explain what this means or am I reading into it too much... cause if a 1000 etec is coming...I will be "edit for bad language"!! Then I will have to order another sled next year!
Got my new XS and some snow!

I picked her up Friday morning and even had a little snow Saturday AM, just enough to ride some circles in the yard to get 1 whole mile on her! Love the feel so far and can't wait to get it on the trails in a few weeks.
Roetin Hornets or ???????
19 November 2012 - 03:41 PM
Picking up my 2013 800 X shorty on Friday and I plan on studding the 1.25" Ripsaw on it. I did have a 1" ripsaw on my last 800 X with 168 (84 Double Backers) 1.340" Roetin Hornets as per an excellent recommendation by some members (Btank!) and was an amazing hardpack, ice/grass drag and trail track. It's biggest drawbacks was obviously offtrail and it was high maintanance with stud breakage due to the penetration of a little over 1/2" and with the short nuts. I put the same setup on the sled when I sold it to a friend, but with an 1 1/4" track and .500" tall nuts with the same 1.340" studs, and it rocks!! However, it still breaks studs thanks to our NY trails we ride. I know I will never get the same hook with the 1 1/4" track as I will with the 1" with the same studs, so I am keeping the 1" just for drag events and thats it (track swapping is no biggie for me).
My question for you hardcore trail riding/drag guys is this: Is there another stud/brand out there that will work as good as the Roetin Hornets, but maybe a little bit more reliable? I want to stay with the 1 1/4" for the occasional lake racing and for the off trail/trail use the sled will get. I even considered jumping to a longer stud to keep the 1/2" penetration with the 1 1/4" track but know I am back in the same boat with breakage and bending as I was with the 1". I am ok with bending and breaking a few studs here and there, but not 20-25 every 400 miles like it was with my 1". Again, I would sooner break a stud anyday than pull it through the track, another reason why I like double backers. Any input is greatly appreciated guys!
