In Topic: Where to?

06 May 2012 - 07:50 PM

Turnagain is reporting a foot of new snow with more falling now.  Weather break tomorrow for Whittier with warm temps and new snow.

The Weatherunderground forecast for Whittier is looking REALLY good for next week.

My sled is loaded and I am off work at 0900 tomorrow.

Mark

Ahhh, I don't know about the weatherunderground but I see mostly cloudy with rain showers for Whittier  next week.  Are you doing a special dance for sun Mark?  Love to go just hate to drive all that way for rain.

In Topic: Dang clutch will not come off

16 April 2012 - 10:25 PM

Thought I would change the spring. Had the clutch off probably 15 times before, and only one ride since last time off. Bent the puller bolt. Tried heat gun. Tried propane torch. Bangin on the bolt, kinda hardish. Even tried the water trick. Notta.
Now I can't get the clutch bolt back in. It threads thru the clutch threads fine, but will only turn 4 turns in the crank threads before it gets pretty tight. Tried using a shotgun cleaning wire brush thinking the threads have puller bolt embeded in the threads, but no help there. The clutch bolt's first 4 threads look straight but flattened down a bit.
So I guess it's off to the dealer to see if they have some magic up their sleeve.

If anyone has a secret trick they want to share, I'm all ears. :Cheers

Jeff, I had the same problem with my M8.  I used the water trick but I dumped about a gallon of boiling water and I mean boiling not just hot water on the back part of the clutch and about 2 minutes later it poped off with a bang.

Anyone up for a ride in Hatchers Monday?

Thinking about hitting the Willow side Monday if interested. Bill

In Topic: We want your ideas

You're right, it wasn't, but the post was called "Tell us you want to see on our blog, Facebook pages, and right here" and the explanation of the reason for the post was pretty clear.

I enjoy reading posts like there ones though, the comments from everyone telling BRP how they should build sleds is humorous.

Why is it humorous, considering we spend 10 to 12 thousand on a sled and see things that can be done better?
