Yep....when I spring ordered I thought hard about the 1.5 but talked myself out of it. Make sure you use tall nuts and try to get the biggest stud head you can for pull thru. 2400 miles and haven't pulled or bent one yet. I got them off Big John......I think he's a sponsor or if you do a search you'll find a link......great guy......I'll look him up again!

Your reservations about the trail part are correct......it's still a good trail sled.......add a little taller windshield like I did and through 148 studs at her and you're off. When you do head off trail man is it fun.....narrow your stance and unhook the swaybar and ride it like you stole it! I find mine wants to push a little or else it rides up on one ski when pushed hard on the trail. Once you get used to riding the brake to plant the front and make the apex just throttle up and with the low gearing your pullin' hard!

I've had a Renagade and I own a Freeride.........in "spring like" conditions the 1 3/4 will cause a little extra heat (hense the heat issue). The sled is mainly for off trail, 30 foot jumps and everything in between! It's a GOOD trail sled not a GREAT one........I found the Renagade was better! The warranty is a plus, the chassis and shocks are stellar but I would get the windshield. I studded mine to help with the low snow conditions (I'm going to get ice scratchers as well) and brakeing. Hope this helps.

I squeeked one too on Sat.....temp was good and with no warning other than I had to go to #6 on my clickers to get peak power my Freeride shut off. Mechanic doesn't know why.......god bless warranty.

Yes you can scotchbrite the sheeves........I've taken my belts and used dish soap, a little degreaser and warm water; wash the belt and let dry. Good to go. It could cause it to slip/over rev. Adjust your deflection too.
