Mine at 10000km (6200 miles) 2009 Etec 600.

Actually, that was the setup I had! Purchased the pistons and head and shim kit from Cudney, reed spacers and Tempaflow from Royal Distributing, and some mild clutching. Was happy with the setup!

Both MCB Performance and Cudney Racing used to offer a dual ring piston for the 700. No mention on either website if they still offer them though.

Did you have the problem before?

Many things cause this:

 - height of windshield directing air into helmet

 - helmet chin skirt not overlapping jacket or not done up, leaving a gap for snow and air to enter

 - cold weather mask not used, leaving another entry point for air and snow

 - damaged seal where visor and jaw meet
