In Topic: 2013 800R E-TEC BIG RPM LOSS

In all seriousness its good Humor for sure.

Totally agree its not for mild Mods the e tec, especially  if your looking for consistency.

With the talent list of folks on this forum if its an issue with no resolve,so be it

Move on and ride it for what it is.

Totally agree the 4 tec is still a nice choice for something to rework with  less issues.

By the way hows yours working out A7?Always enjoy the updates.

Nother fresh drop of snow so might have to burn some more fuel here.

Sorry T-190... with out having this issue myself i have no idea what you guys are going through. Must be frustrateing as hell. I keep refering to this as a clutching issue. Likely no.

I am pretty sure there will be NO falling rpm in the new 6 months. Have a great summer and keep the beer cold. Thanks Ski-B.

Frustrating?

Not hardly

The 12 Cat turbo is Frustration

The Polaris Fusion 900 ....Frustrating.

This Doo not even in the same League.

Still runs, still Rides excellent,Just Slow.

Doesnt take 2 miles to nose over either how bout less than a half.

Been getting on in years anyways maybe its a sign.

Not drinking the Kool Aid on the Team secondary have yet to try on the E tec but highly doubting its the fix.

We ride in plenty of snow Coolant at 4 bars so any other suggestions?

Thinking of mounting the engine on the wood splitter to see how it holds up.

Second choice was 1/4 scale RC Flat bottom drag boat.

Have options.

AM7 thx your on my xmas card list again... Lol As for my sled no word yet but soon as D&D waiting for the Candoo programmer to clear codes and play with it on the dyno...

Lennstang... I read that post years ago and 95% of posts on there are decscibing the small rpm loss or protection mode the ECM loss when the sled gets hot over 5 bars, run in low snow conditions or WOT for extended periods of time.

Big RPM loss or FADE as some call it which is the title of this post is much more than RPM loss than the 7600 or 7700 of the old post more like 7200-7400 which GOD may only know the answer this one but nobody knows if its an ECM issue to date or and combo of issues clutching, cooling, check valves etc on top of the ECM protections as motor parts changed thru the years of the earlier model Etecs

Im on commenting on what I seen as I run my 11 hard at it lays down from the small RPM drop like almost every other Etec out there and has for years which it is designed to due by BRP but NEVER suffered the dreaded 7200-7400 fade ever! I strongly believe it is directly related to coolant temps and ECM sensors. This winter I have all seen sleds renegades run milesnand miles WOT with temp gauge maxed out and not even lay down at all. I also see AM7 never experienced either RPM drop on any sled 10.5 or 13 with also make me believe my theory is correct as he is up north on prime snow conditions most of the time... As I too lived in Timmins over 25 years and snow condition are always ample up in that area and cooling is always better

There is a difference between the two rpm issues

So in Review even with plenty of snow you have seen Gades running at max coolant temps with no RPM drop?

How about MPH drop with max coolant temp?

Best year in many for snow in this area with still ridable snow close, gade will have RPM issue with 4 bars on the gauge at 0F,

and once again in plenty of snow, and also not just one gade many.

As previously quoted "Strongly believe directly related to coolant temps and sensors"

Wouldnt think at 4 bars coolant temp should be an issue, that should be the norm for running conditions wouldn't one think?

This might be a favorite sled for some and is for a just strolling down the trail enthusiast, but purchased for a hot rod to be out in front sled, not so.

The lack of consistency will break the deal.

Still is no resolve for the Issue, and many just looking for an answer.

Believe the original post was of a 2013 and that is the sled of concern here.

Clutch blew once, replaced with edrive.low oil light, wouldn't go over 18 mph.brought to dealer for fix.next ride ran great for 40 miles, low oil pressure light again.ran slow then wouldn't move.sounded like oil pump issue.not ragging on 4strokes but any sled can have issues.i don't go to the xr site to bash 4strokes cuz at some point I might buy one.the guys on this thread are looking for a fix to their current sleds, not advice on what sled to buy

So after one has tried every avenue that has been suggested on this forum and gone above and beyond to try and come up with a resolve for this issue,
We now need to enlist in sensitivity training to voice ones opinion?
Really, Folks hear have come up with some great advice and all has helped to some degree.
End of the day there is no fix that really works to date.
Been through and replaced Check valves regap and replaced plugs even the clutching/gearing, a wide variety of belts tried,
and almost bit on the belt deflection all to no avail.
Had plenty of issues with this sled the 2013 (engine/clutch related only) and have yet to air the dirty laundry, stating facts would not be bashing.
Have yet to see a 2013 4 tec have any issues to date if this is the comparison and there are a few 4 tecs in this stable of a variety of years,no issues.
Just stating Facts.Sure hope there is a resolve soon,here.... this issue is a deal breaker, and yes the return to 4 stroke R motion is welcomed.
As previously stated this sled itself will not give most issues riding an average day,but a wider open trail this problem is very noticeable.
Still snow left so any help or suggestions are welcomed.
