I hold down the fort from here with a 12 gauge on the look out for some sleds that were stolen.

Shoot first and ask questions later! I won't worry about any buckshot damage or blood stains!!

Well, that didnt work.  Tried to post from my blackberry earlier.  Yes, Waterloo is definately not paradise.  I work for the Post Office here, but my sleds and trailer were stolen from my home while I was gone to work.  I have checked with the neighbors to see if anyone heard anything, but no luck.  It seems this was a professional job, use a smaller trailer ball, hook to a locked trailer, hook up the chains and gone.

The only other info I can tell you is that the 95 Mach Z has a stud about every place there is room for one, the back of the seat is all torn and needs recovered, and the trunk is missing the right side latch.  It has the old Iowa registration numbers "FN554" on the hood, and both DSA trailing arms are plain black, as the have both been replaced.  It also has a blue Michigan 2002 trail pass sticker right below the windshield.

The 2001 MXZ 800X is black and yellow with an inch and three quarter non studded paddle track, yellow hood vent inserts, a yellow skid plate, a Cobra smoked low windshield with yellow checker border, and a 2 inch bar riser.  It was an extremely clean and nice model, and has the DESS system.  Whoever stole it will have to go to a dealer to get a new DESS button in order to start it.

I have contacted Leers in Waterloo, Gary's in Independence and Best's Powerhouse in Dunkerton with all the VIN numbers, and the numbers are also in the national NCIC database.

I just found out today from the store clerk near my home, that someone else in the neighborhood had a Yamaha sled stolen from their garage.  Perhaps a neighborhood watch group with some .308's is in order here.

Please do let your mechanic know, and give him the numbers, just in case!

Thanks!!

Yeah thats Waterloo for you.  Where do you work?  Any chance of anywhere around there having any cameras?  I grew up around there and went to school there.  Dont miss that town one bit.  I do miss CF though.  Kinda crazy how its one big town with such a big difference.  Either way it blows they got stolen.  If you give me any more info I can talk to my old mechanic down there who knows everyone that almost owns a sled practically.  Or atleast runs a shop in a 100 miles radious.  See if he has heard anything.

Sorry, I dont have any pics.  I really wish I did, but it seems that I was either riding them or walking around em in the shop.  Its a really lousy feeling seeing that empty space in the driveway, and knowing I have nothing to look forward to this weekend.  I can only hope the thief(s) lose a hand in a belt or something equally gruesome!

Thanks everyone for the support!
