Please don't bash the Ford that not the issue here.
Please don't tell me to buy Brand X truck because I did five days after this first happened.
Back in July we were towing our new 41' toy haulerwith our '08 6.4 F-450 back to Alaska. We had just bought the toy hauler in Austin Tx and we were about 8,500 miles into our 11,000 'planned trip' trip. While in Canada, about 1800 miles from home the 6.4 blew up. Now I had 20K+ miles tuned and deleted and a few other things making close to 700hp. (read; this is NOT a warranty issue!) So short version: I go back to the US and buy a loaded 2012 Denali Duramax Dually. (got a great deal even before the 2013 were out!) If you'r ever in Sand Point Id. needing a vehicle go see Blacky at Alpine Motors!
SO, at the end of the 6th day when I parked this new truck it had 6800 miles on it it and 3 Alcan trips! It had 6 miles on it when I bought.
So first week of August I dropped the F-450 off a local diesel shop for repair. I learn (and saw) it had melted a hole in pistion #8. (somewhat common on 6.4) All other 7 cylinder/pistons looked good. (or so I'm told)
Well it's now been over 5 months LITERALLY! and my truck isnot finished and engine still scattered between machine shop and shop 'fixing'.
I stoped by close to once every 2 weeks for up dates and got the run around each time, machine shop delays, ordered wrong parts, more was wrong than the inital inspection (read more $$) blah blah blah
4 dead lines that the owner promised when it would be done have come and gone. I haven't heard from them in a month in a half when I went there VERY upset demanding a firm date when my truck would be done. Yes I dropped a few 'F-Bombs' showing how discussed with their professionalism though this ordeal.
So at this point do I seak legal councel, do I use BBB? I need help from those that have been through this!
5 months and counting to rebuild a diesel engine is outragious!! I have made 5 truck payments and insurance payments since I dropped it off.
What are my options at this point?
