Looked at my clutches and I have a gap like that as well.  No issues for me.  I have run that XS803 belt before though and had symptoms as you describe.  

I have had better luck with the Gates belts.  The best luck and tune with OEM belts.  

 

I wouldn't worry about the gap though.

Depends...X or adrenaline?

 

Both Adrenaline and X came with extros beginning in 05 on the summit.

Just installed one on mine. 5 hole.  Like Danzick though that is running RKT Drop in.

Yes it will work.  It is also TRA 3.  Didn't change till 07 and the R motor.

Yeah, looks replaceable to me as long as it isn't back into the bulkhead and coolers behind the motor.  You can pull off your plastics and engine and replace the pan underneath the motor, the nun, and front supports and should work out ok.

 

Just depends though on the deal you can get on a roller and look at cost and time difference.
