Dial-A-Jet and the DPM

02 December 2007 - 03:59 PM

I am interested in getting a Dial-A-Jet. The write up on how they work is very interestings. I do, however have some reservations and would like to talk to someone that has used them.

Do they work with the DPM system?

Are thet easy/hard to get adjusted?

The write from the manufacturer says to start with jets about 3-4 sizes smaller than recommended, agree?

What is your overall opinion on them?

I will be using them on a '02 Summit X 800R, lots of deep powder up here at 8-10,000 ft and I basically don't want to be changing jets and doing a lot of carb work on the side of the trail. Just installed a set of twin pipes (CPI) and some V-Force reeds.

Where's my thread?

15 November 2007 - 03:02 PM

I posted a thread (here) yesterday asking about CPI Twin Pipes....its now gone, no where, can't even find it in the search engine. Was it moved? Was it trashed? I've checked it a couple time since yesterday for responses, now it's gone....do the Moderators around here trash threads or move threads without notification? What the hell is going on here?

Anyone familiar with CPI Twin Pipes?

14 November 2007 - 05:36 PM

I just bought a pair of CPI Twin pipes for my '02 Summit 800R. One of the pipes doesn't have any loops for the springs....is this normal? How do I secure it? I sent an email to CPI but no response (yet). I'd like to talk to someone who has the same set-up. Thanks Guys!

Simmons Gen II Skis

I am highly interested in getting some of those 10" wide skis for the big powder...but I cannot find a shop or on-line shop that sells them....any help?

Summit 700 flat spot @ 5000rpm

23 January 2007 - 04:19 PM

First of all, Hello! I'm new and can't wait to dive into Doo (talk)!

My wife has a '02 Salt Lake City Olympic Edition Summit 700 (Summit 700 Sport), she's finally starting to ride it! But we got a small problem. At about 5000 rpms it hits a flat spot in acceleration. Almost falls flat on its face.
So when she throttles thru it, it then takes off hard, spinning track, and she gets stuck. I need to smooth the delivery out. My 800x, same year, runs great. Go figger? It also has a tendency to load up w/ idling or cruising real slow, so I figured its rich. We ride at 4800-11000ft, -5 to 32F, in mountianous northern Utah.

So I lowered the pilot from the stock 17.5 to 15. The flat spot just changed a little, just tighter around 5000rpms. So next I lowered the needle (I know its a one position needle) by flipping the washer w/ the c-clip. Thinking again, to make it leaner. It got worse, really bad. Really fell on its face, dropped to 4500 rpm before it regained muscle. Lowering the pilot helped a little, but leaning the needle did just the opposite? Go figger?

The clutches engage at the right spot (3800-4000 rpm), all else is stock and in spec. Am I way off in jetting for this altitude? Could it be something else? Should I go down to a 12.5 pilot?
