I hit the start button and it turned over strong but did not start. Tried a few more times and finally after letting it crank for 30secs it finally started to sputter and fired up. Unfortunately the check engine light came on and the dess light was flashing.
Mot!#$*>?!!!er. i'm "edit for bad language"!
The sled was smoking like crazy and the dess was not working as the engine would not rev up. I think they performed the recall and didn't even start it to check it out. I thought it was strange that it was taking so long to fire up, probably getting fuel to the carbs. They had summerized it at the end of the season adn fogged it in the process so i am assuming that is why there was soo much smoke. The lot kid told me that it is normal if they took the chaincase off, but I'm not sure how this could be related unless they spilt oil all over the backside of the exhaust? I thought they would have to remove the can in order to do the shaft so i am a little confused.
I don't want to mention the name of the dealer as i want to give them the chance to explain, but i need a little info from my dootalk friends.
Would having the driveshaft done cause the sled to smoke excessively?
Would starting the engine and spinning the track for a good while in order to adjsut track tension not be common practice?
Why would the dess be flashing and does the check engine light come on when this happens oro could there be another problem?
Sliders after 600km's? I thought the xp's were more forgiving on the sliders?
What would you guys doo?
I'm pretty level headed and i'm hoping all is well in the end but i'm frustrated adn a bit concerned. the sled only has 600kms on it and is my first new sled.
