Well, tape the ever loving shiznit out of your running boards, because XP chassis take on water faster then the Titanic. Heck, the Rev chassis aren't much better. And no, you don't have to take off the snow flap, but if your running a 1.75 inch track (snowcross?), you might want to swap to a 1 incher, because to tall of a lug can build water underneath the tunnel and actually slow your track down enough to sink the sled.

The best advice is to go buy a ZX chassis 600 or better sled and that thing might as well be a boat, cause she'll run water all day and into the night.

Complete agreement on the ZX Chassis.  2000-2002 800 goes forever.  For that matter, a Formula III 600/700 triple is even better.  Rev/XPs are fine for puddle jumping but a guaranteed sink for entire lake crossings.

$5 grand maybe mods don't really add value FYI. Sorry to be a#$ but it is 6 years old.
Here is a modded 2004 renegade for a little over half in my area on craigslist....

I’m selling my 2004 Renegade X SDI, a Spring order only in that year. I’m hanging up my helmet and moving onto another hobby (you can see it in the background). My brother (his new eTec in the background) bought the sled new and I purchased it from him. It has been in an enclosed trailer and in my heated shop since new. It has 8300 miles on chassis and a new stator, voltage regulator, intake boots and complete top end +/- 600 miles ago. This time last year is when the work was completed. It has many extras to go along with the standard X package features.
• Shocks rebuilt last summer by Maize
• Bronze a-arm bushing
• Floating secondary kit, clutch cover removed but have
• Air box sealed up
• Extended riser
• Woody’s SS picks up middle
• New green top battery last year
• Britelites clear lamps
• Short flap but have original
• Tall windshield, came w/ new changed out
• New 6” & 4” Woody carbides for Precision skis added (not installed)
• New black slides (not installed)
• Amsoil Interceptor & chain case since new
• X seat switched out for a softer one w/ trunk!
Looking to get $3900 OBO
I’m located in near Fort Atkinson, WI
Thanks for looking, you won’t be disappointed!

Ya... I am sure everyone on Dootalk has $1000 titanium A-arms?? or $1000 worth of guages to ensure their engine is carefully monitored? By the way... the sled you found on craigslist doesnt have a single performance mod... its all cosmetic crap... did you even read my mods? That being said I don't disgree with either one of you, You are completely right about my pricing. I just know what i want for my sled... if it doesn't sell I don't care.. My wife just suddenly gets the sled. One more thing... you guys are American, you may not realize it but we pay more for sleds here in Canada, even used. Happy Ridin guys

I believe that the price and what not is supposed to be discussed via PM's.

But that being said, I agree with the above post. In order to command the kind of price you are asking, the sled would have to have be the current chassis, carbon fiber tunnel, custom rear skid, etc, etc.

Its a beautiful sled but half the guys on Dootalk have done most of those mods (minus the motor work).

Good luck,
Buffy

I have a bondi air box installed now. Was installed when I bought the machine. Do the jets require changing due to the install of the box? Same question when I install V force reeds. The machine is 2010 800r renegade

for the v-force.. no
for the bondi air box.... yes

In Topic: Octane boost or not

NOS octane booster from Canadian Tire has MMT in the same amounts as Lucas, has been around a lot longer, and is the same price. I have used both and trust the NOS race one. Remember... when you are in some remote town, you may be lucky to find 91, and if you do, 10 bucks says it aint 91 and they are lying or its old gas. I use a bottle of that stuff every single weekend for the last 3 years... great insurance
