I believe stock timing is in the low 40* and on pump I run 26* @ 15psi

yes, less boost or lower timing and higher octane all lower knock/detonation
I even had to lower my timing around 7000rpm with 25psi boost using 115 octane e-85
and on pump 93 @ 15psi
you can run perfect afr numbers and still have knock

I can tell you a lower comp 1200 is a lot like the seadoo 1500 @ 8.5:1
similar timing and with a SC the 1500 runs 10+psi @ 8000+
and at 7000 about 7+psi on pump 91 but the seadoo also has knock control
so what I am saying is that near 7000 rpm is the biggest spot for damage causing knock

so tell us aja636 how do you know that boost is safe
what is the stock timing at 7000 or 8000 rpm
just because the motor does not explode does not mean it is not causing damage to the rings/pistons
I have knock logs ...do you?
