Push the button, hold down and wiggle your finger around with pressure on the button. Leave the kill switch in the off position until your ready to start it again.  A switch is 2 contacts that have to touch each other and create continuity., When they are exposed to moisture they will corrode and cause a poor connection.

In Topic: Mechanical Reverse won't work unless engine shut off

same problem ...... just took my belt off and slipped right into reverse while running. Always slipped in when turned off just didnt when started . So i think this post solved my problem THANKS ..... now to just learn how to set belt deflection. Is it weird to have to set it i have a stock brp belt brand new #417 300 383. Is this the wrong belt.

Belt deflection is a common adjustment. As the belt wears, the deflection becomes more as the belt get's thinner. The secondary clutch adjustment is used to correct this.  The owners manual explains this adjustment quite well.

In Topic: Keeping charge in battery over summer

No fool'in!

 Get a small 1.5 amp charger/maintainer.

They are less than $50 in the U.S. and will work on the bike during the winter and then the sled during the summer.

Saving both batteries from premature failure.

 Priceless!

So your new to riding snowmobiles?

 Or just working on them?

You will have to take it apart and learn how everything works.

Find a good friend who knows sleds, and learn from Him.

7 sleds in 3 years?

Definitely not doing something right. I have blown up only 2 engines in 40 years of sledding.

I would suggest getting someone else to help you with the repair and maintenance.

Maybe learn how engines work, then work on your engine.
