sled went into "overheat" mode -- anything to be concerned of?

29 March 2013 - 12:46 PM

So my old man took the BCX out for one last ride w/ the boys last night. Trail conditions were poor the later it got, and he ended up tripping the "overheating" notification/alarm on the display. He immediately shut it off and let it cool down again.

Is there anything I should be worring about since it "overheated"? I was thinking about bringing it to the dealer to run a diagnostic and see if any codes were tripped, etc.

What are your thoughts??

2014 freeride 137, Rmotion coupling different??

27 February 2013 - 10:04 PM

Just saw this pic on skidoo FB- it says with coupling block on # 1, it is fully uncoupled. any truth to this?? Does this mean they cut the rail back 5/8" like the SC-5 Freeride?

See Below--

"A few people asked for a pic of the Freeride 137 rMotion rear skid. With the coupling block on position 1, it operates totally uncoupled for great transfer in deep snow."

Sway-bar quick disconnect - your observations?

15 February 2013 - 11:26 AM

I am planning to experiment w/ the disconnect for the first time this weekend (finally good/deep snow to ride) and am wondering what others have observed, or what i should expect?

Is it that much of a difference when pulling the sled over, handling on/off trail, etc?

Any suspension set-ups i should make when disconnected? - currently front preload @ 3 & rebound @ 12 clicks up

I plan to flip the coupler pads for more weight transfer as well.

"Rev Limiter" & 2 Beeps @ 8300+ RPMs, 2013 BCX 800

30 January 2013 - 12:46 PM

Sled has 400mi now (still in Break-In), riding 1,500' -1,700' elevation ---

I was riding last weekend and whenever I goosed the throttle, it would jump to 8300+ RPM and "Rev Limiter" would flash across the display followed by 2 beeps.

Anyone else know what the deal is or are having the same problems? I did a search and there was some info but I thought it might be a good THREAD to start to get all opinions in one palce.

Aftermarket Carbides for Pilot DS skis- what to get for Renegade BC?

27 December 2012 - 04:37 PM

I plan to keep the DS skis on my Renegade BC, but will be replacing the stock carbides soon and I am wondering what aftermarket carbides would work best.

I have done some research and read alot about Sharper Bars and Bergstroms, but what do you think works best on the DS skis, and what leangth carbide?
