What would you doo?
25 February 2013 - 02:21 PM
So I blew up my 01' 800 this past weekend. Sent the connecting rod thru the front of the block. So would you guys buy a new bottom end and put it back together, or buy another complete engine, drop it in and try to part out whatever might still be good on the old motor. Either way I'm calling it a season with about 600 miles for the year. So this will be my summer project. And no I'm not going to part the sled out.
liquid mechanic?
07 February 2013 - 12:48 AM
So on one of my other sleds a 2000 Arctic crap 440 fan, I took it out yesterday for the first time in over a year. And its real boggy at take off, i'm sure its old gas and dirty carbs or plugged pilot jet. I have a friend that's going to ride it on friday and don't have time to take the carbs off and clean them up like I should. So my question is, is there anything I can pour into the (fresh) gas that will help clear this up somewhat?
Interesting article on dock bubblers
16 January 2013 - 12:19 AM
Just read an article on dock bubblers, and how the home owner can be held legally responsible if they operate them and create hazardous open water conditions. The article said they can open up as much as 500 feet around the dock. Just curious what everybodys thoughts and experiences are on this. I never gave it much thought and the article opened my eyes to what is just another hazard to be on the lookout for.

13 December 2012 - 02:01 AM
Any suggestions on what I should be running for jets on my 800 it has a dynoport pipe, stock can, and Boyesen power reeds. I'm about two days away from finishing my build and want to get the jetting right while it's apart.
