I have for now a 2008 Summit XP 800R.  My bro rides the '07 summit X 800, and my dad rides the an '08 as well as of this year.  At first I didn't care for snowmobiling too much because the first time I went out my brother crashed and broke his knee up pretty bad.  Between sergury and sled rental repair his bill was around $30K. Also I didn't know how to ride the sled in deep snow. I had no idea about the concept of wrong foot forward or boondocking. The whole experience was miserable and I said at that time "I will never own a snowmobile."  LOL Look at me now.  THE REASON I RIDE:  A number of years ago a different brother had a snowmobile day with the family, and I decided to go along.  He showed me all about boondocking, powder turning, and tree riding, and needless to say  I WAS HOOKED.  My favorite thing to do is find the deep powder and put the sled on its edge.  I love navigating through the trees and finding untouched snow.  I have ridden trails, and they are no fun.  A trail is merely a way to get to the powder otherwise they don't serve any purpose.  I am constantly reading and researching about snowmobiles.  I am very mechanically minded so upgrading and wrenching is fun for me.  There are a lot of smart people on this site and their opinions matter so I became a member.  There are also not so smart of people who just seem to get on here to bash others... LAME.  Anyways hope to get to know some of you better.
