Secondary clutch tool(or lack of)

23 February 2012 - 06:08 PM

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows the thread that the secondary clutch tool is on my 98 formulaz 670? obviously the machines old so the clutch tool for removing the belt is long since gone and i need to change my belt and fix my deflection. i do plan on finding an actual clutch tool one of these days jsut sort of need it for tonight and i have a huge selection of bolts and nuts and what not that i can try and put in there to pull the clutches apart but i don't want to risk ruining the threads if its the wrong thing! if anybody has any ideas i'd appreciate it! thanks.

Formula Z 670 secondary issues?

18 February 2012 - 10:38 AM

Hey again guys. so i changed my track in my sled from a beat up old bomb to a hacksaw, had the secondary off for ease of hub removal. put the secondary back on but im not sure its shimmed right?(a friend of mine removed it and now hes up north where im supposed to be going so im not sure how they were) now for some reason my deflection seems off and the track spins all the time if you hit the brake it'll almost kill the motor, leaving for a trip..ummm 2 hours ago? lol i checked a microfiche and the shims that are on my clutch are COMPLETELY different so im not sure if its even the right secondary for the machine(there was heavy repaired damage to the tunnel where the drivers are, in the chain case and in the hub as well-wondering if old clutch was damaged and replaced- but could the secondary being misaligned even by a couple of shimms cause the belt to be that tight? you can see that its hugging the inside of the primary but ive tried a million other arrangements with the shims i have and this is the only way it seems to work right? does anyone have an actual photo of how their secondary is installed on a similar sled?

Sc10 swap not working well, center to center off?

09 February 2012 - 05:51 PM

Hey again everyone, got my skid swap all done (swapped arm suspension for sc10) but the skid does not have full range of movement. if i removed the small restrictor cylinder at the back(replaced by blocks in more current models) it will travel about 6.5 inches, but its very rear bias, i think that my mounts center to center might be out and its throwing it off, does anyone have any input? or what the bolt center to center should be on an sc10 1 or 2? any input would help alot as this job has not gone well or easily, but so close to the end!!! lol

Swapping A.R.C/A.R.M suspsention with sc10!

04 February 2012 - 10:00 AM

Hey guys just bought this sled,1998 formula z, 670. had it out quite a few times but as im sure most people who dont live in the snowbelt know, we havent had much powder, but we love to ride around here so we take them out and abuse them anyways, well thsi arm suspension-while i dont find it rides to bad as im a heavier guy, its just really rickidy and is constantly falling apart, and last night doing a pre ride check i removed the skid only to find it literally crumble into a million peices when i removed it,(scary considering i had the sled completely topped out the weekend before) so im goin to an sc10, whats involved in this swap? I know there are other threads on this topic, but no clear cut answer. some say an sc10II will bolt right in, some say you need to rivit in mounts other say  you need to move the holes. anybody have any input? lookin to go buy a skid from the local wreckers and do this swap in a couple hours so any help would be very appreciated
