before you tear it down do a crank phase check..you can do this by rigging up a pointer off of a fixed object on the chassis and point it to the clutch..bring each cyilinder to true TDC and mark the outer sheeve of the clutch..do that with all 3 cyilinders and then take a measurement between the markings...they should all measure the same... 97 mach 1 does not have isoflex pto bearings..99 was the first year for that.

problem is its already tore down

well my father inlaw knows the guy i got sled from and he was there when sled blew on him and the two pto bearings are aftermarket bearings it didnt look like any grease was an them. i know on my 07 800 they have isoflex grease packed in that bearing. would the bearing go that fast if crank was out of balance i know they are three pieces

the outer pto bearings you can do yourself...ive done it a couple times. if you can't get your hands on a bearing puller you can cut the bearings off with a cut off wheel...been there and done it....go down to your local bearing headquarters and get you 2 new steel caged bearings...clean the crank throw it in the freezer for a day or two...place the new bearings on a old cookie sheet and set the oven on like 200-250 degrees for about 15 minutes pull the crank out of the freezer and drop the warm bearings right on the crank...whalla!!! aftermarket bearings you will get won't have the locator pin in them just use a two drops of locktite bearing and sleeve retainer to keep it in place. sorry for the long post just thought i would walk you through it. :righton

so i put loctite bearing and sleave retainer on outside of bearing or on case? also how do i know if crank is straight because the bearing went in less than ten miles
