When you have the bolt in it , dip the outer half in a bucket of hot water for a few minutes. Then give it a bump on the floor. I have had trouble also, the hot water will make it come apart easier.

There are aluminum billet ones available from c&t  and others. I put them on my 3 xps when I found that the rails were showing wear because they were not clamping the axle tight. That is no place to be using plastic.

Last summer I pto bearing buddies on my 3 xps. This time I am adding isoflex to the mag sides. At tractor supply I got a thing you would use on a grease gun to lube the roller nose of a chain saw. Its about 5 inches long. The skinny end is about 5/8 inch long and then steps up just a little bigger than the bolt holes in the stator. I chucked it in the drill press and filed down enough of the bigger portion so it go in slightly beyond the threads in the case. Then I measured and cut a piece of rubber pulsation hose to slip on to keep any grease from pushing back and to insure that I can not force it in too far and jab the bearings. It has a collar on it that slips back and stiffens the connection on the gun.

My 11 is the same as the 08. You have to get the tube shoved far enough away, hold the catch thing and pull the box to a point where you have to pull back on it when it starts to catch on whatever is in the way. I apply dielectric grease to the sliding area to help it to be done easier. Its about impossible to get catch thing to latch right, due to the hoses and stuff that the box pushes against when it is near the stopping point.
