2007 Blizzard MXZ torque specs

01 November 2012 - 10:43 AM

Hello, I'm putting my sled back together after some fall pre-season checks

I need the following as I've forgotten

Chain case bolt torque specs (upper with cotter pin) and (lower)

PS here's a good tip as well, if your chain case is apart, yank it off and replace the key way for the brake rotor, it sometimes shows wear and starts to rattle on the axle shaft.  It's a cheap part and it'll make things quieter

Primary Clutch bolt torque spec?
Secondary Clutch bolt torque spec?

On the Yamaha clutches, they have a 2 step process, 120 ft-lbs, then unbolt, tighten and use 70 ft-lbs as I re-call, I used to be a Yamaha Tech, but I've left the power sports industry to pursue another interests.

Anyways just need a re-fresher with the specs, lets not get all the kings horses and all the kings men involved in a big debate about this, just need the numbers!

Cheers!

Also, been using Kimpex idler wheels as replacements in my tunnel, fair price and better rubber than BRP.  Includes clip, bearing and wheel!

To buy or not to buy

19 February 2012 - 09:35 PM

The old boy wants out of his GTX 600 HO SDI.  The replacement sled is a GSX with the 1200 in it.  Local dealer has one and its attractive.  Give it to me straight, is this a good motor for sleds??? I'm hearing mixed reviews.  I am aware of clutch issues/updates.  Will this sled spend more time at the dealership then on the trail? I'm familiar with this engine in the doo-doo boats just not in a sled application.

Tools for the trail

Heading to Northern Ontario, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls area.  Need to bring the essentials along in my REV bag incase the need for a trail side repair occurs.  What are people packing for tools when riding in remote locations? I've got a good idea, but curious what else I might add to my REV bag.

Gauge lense replacement

08 February 2012 - 08:28 PM

I saw an old post on here back in 2005 about this topic, but I'll ask again......

Found some reasonably priced gauge lenses on the Doo website, thinking of ordering a couple as my current gauge lenses have moisture in them and cracked. Whats the best way to access the gauges so I can replace the lenses?
